So, it’s valentines day. I know lots of us don’t particularly look forward the day, but like many other occasions, it IS a great excuse to eat delicious cupcakes. Pink and red ones, in this case. I love turkish delight and rose flavour, so I decided to make rose water cupcakes this valentines day.
I tried a slightly different icing technique, similar to the one used by bakeries in the States, like Magnolia. But I must admit, I am still perfecting it.
We aren’t doing anything to celebrate tonight, although we did happen to have a lovely day yesterday, visiting Kalk Bay, discovering this AWESOME second hand shop (you should all go there) and relaxing at Silvermine.
What are you doing today? x

Oh no! These look and sound too delicious. It is a shame that I do not have some of them to munch as I contemplate my singleness…
I love how you snuck in the scripture there
Jer 9:24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.”
:)
also what did i do on feb 14th? drank water and got myself a boyfriend :P see you soon cupcake princess!
Could you please share the Rose water cupcake recipe?
Love all your delicate and beautiful take on cup cakes, and the subtle reference to Jer 9:24.
Thank you and take care
Lindy
Hi Lyndi, I basically just used this recipe: http://bakelovenotwar.co.za/2011/12/09/vanilla_cupcake_recipe/ and added a few teaspoons of rose water to the cake. I hope that helps. Thank you for the compliment, I’m so glad you like my blog. x
